Gallery 2.0 Released

Posted by AC

Gallery 2.0 was released yesterday. At least, I got mail about it at 11:04 PM yesterday. Generally, I’m not a “dot-oh” person. I’m a pretty strong believer in letting others live on the bleeding edge. And while Gallery 2.0, is certainly a “dot-oh”, I suspect it’s pretty well tested having been in design and development for 3 years through through 4 alpha releases, 4 beta releases and 2 release candidates. So, I’ve created gallery2.accapehart.com At the moment, it’s the same pictures as the old gallery.accapehart.com, but with the new gallery engine. Eventually, when I’m happier with my settings, I’ll move it into place as just gallery.accapehart.com (though I’ll probably keep the gallery2 cname in place).

I thought one of the things we were supposed to get with gallery2 was the ability to send ecards, but I’ve not stumbled across that yet. Oh well, maybe I’ll post more once I’ve had more of a chance to play with it. Or, more likely, you’ll just notice a different look and capabilities when you happen to follow my pictures link.

  1. I tried one of the RC’s a few weeks ago and it was, to put it bluntly, slow as mud. The import kept breaking for no apparent reason and there were weird issues with the thumbnails. Let us know how it works out for you.
